3 beautiful openwork engraved earrings

"Openwork carving" is one of the techniques of metalworking.

This technique is used not only in metalwork but also in woodworking.

Any pattern can be created by cutting out precious metals such as silver according to the design.

This time we will introduce the openwork earrings produced by IMULTA.

Florentine

Florentine Earrings

These silver earrings are made with a Zentangle-like openwork design that combines various designs.

The name Florentine comes from the way the nuts in the Florentine sweets look close together.

The gently uneven surface gives the piece a glossy, mirror-like shine, and the structure, which resembles delicate silver wires joined together, creates a very light wearing feel.

Openwork carving itself, if not limited to metalwork techniques, is said to have existed since the Jomon period.

The lightness that makes it appear as if it is floating in space is created by the varying strengths of the openwork lines, giving a sense of solid craftsmanship.

The openwork pattern is beautifully cut out and the parts that connect to the triangular outer frame are minimized to make the piece even lighter.
