Polish by hand using a polishing cloth etc

The first method we will introduce is the manual polishing method.

As some of you may already know, a little bit of effort can make things look a lot prettier.

The easiest and most effective way to polish jewelry etc. is to periodically polish it using a polishing cloth sold at home centers.

To remove dirt that cannot be removed with a polishing cloth

When the dirt becomes a little stubborn, it will not be possible to polish it with a polishing cloth.

Here's what we have for you in such a case.

  • lukewarm water
  • Toothbrush (soft)
  • tooth paste
  • stockings

1. Soak in lukewarm water to loosen dirt and gently brush away fine dirt with a toothbrush.

If you use too much force, you may damage the surface or remove the decorations, so brush it out little by little without using too much force.

2. Scrub by stockings with toothpaste, being careful not to use too much force.

Use stockings that have become soft, such as old ones.

If you don't have stockings, use a soft cloth.

3. Rinse with water to remove toothpaste, wipe off moisture and dry thoroughly.

Moisture is the enemy when storing jewelry.

After wiping off the moisture, dry it thoroughly with cold air from a hair dryer. (Never warm air)

Even with just this amount of work, it will look pretty clean.

Soak in chemicals to remove dirt

In a sense, soaking it in chemicals to remove stains is easy.

Although it may be necessary to know what kind of stains are present, simple stains derived from human oils and fats can be removed by gently wiping with a cloth or tissue lightly dampened with nail polish remover.

However, this method is not recommended as it often cannot be used with jewelry that has gemstones attached.

Use machines such as washing machines

This method uses commercially available electric tools such as ultrasonic cleaners and routers.

In particular, there are types of ultrasonic cleaners that can be used for things other than jewelry, so some people may have one at home.

However, some jewels used for decoration can be damaged if placed in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Also, if you are not familiar with using electric tools such as a router, you will not be able to properly polish them.

If you are not sure whether using a machine will cause any problems or if the stains do not come off with manual cleaning, please contact the brand you purchased it from.

Caring for your jewelry doesn't have to be tedious or difficult.

With regular care, your jewelry will take on a variety of expressions.

You want to maintain your favorite jewelry regularly and use it for a long time.
