The molten silver ingot was shaped using a ``metal forging'' method, in which it is hammered out with a large hammer, creating a deliberately distorted shape.
Furthermore, after engraving, the pattern was inked and the surface was given a rough finish, creating a design reminiscent of a newly excavated ruin.
